With occupier demand falling back, overall availability of floorspace has continued to increase since the previous quarterly report. The retail and office sectors saw the most significant increases in vacant space, while industrial space broadly stabilised. Read the full analysis here.

Although concerns are growing over the stuttering UK recovery, the commitment of the government to its austerity plan has enabled the gilt market to shrug off the tremors being felt in some bond markets in the euro area. Biggest office letting since 2008

Following an intensively-researched report to our client, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we were instructed to short-list a number of high quality office buildings within the central business district of Norwich to enable an off-siting decision to be made in respect of a number of "back-office" departments which would otherwise occupy valuable bed-space within hospital facilities. In consequence, we embarked upon detailed negotiations with the Landlord of a 23,000 sq ft office building close to the City Centre and concluded terms in readiness for their full occupation by the end of 2010.

Property experts, Andrew Bastin (FRICS) and Ben Steward (MRICS), have launched a new Norwich based property business, Bastin Steward. The company will focus on providing property advice to owners, occupiers, developers and investors across the Eastern Region.

Core services will include property transactions, landlord and tenant matters, valuation, investment and development consultancy. The Company is already expanding its professional services by offering mediation, expert witness and arbitration work.
